Artist Statement:

I enjoy the challenges and surprises of using watercolor to develop the shapes, values, and contrasts that define landscapes, objects and people, letting the pigments and water flow and blend to create images and light. The paper itself is part of the creation as the white and lightest areas of the image. It is a process that requires both careful planning and spontaneity. In every piece I am trying to use this medium to find a particular light that can evoke an emotional response to the moment captured.

Artist Bio:

Ron began painting in watercolor after his retirement. Inspired by the unique light of Outer Cape Cod and South Florida, he seeks to capture special moments of ever-changing light and colors. His work includes landscapes, architectural scenes and human figures. A resident of Provincetown and Fort Lauderdale, he has studied at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Cape School of Art, the Provincetown Art Association and Museum and the Bonnet House Museum in Fort Lauderdale. His work has been awarded by the Gold Coast Watercolor Society.
