Often described as otherworldly, the birds in Maureen's work function as guardians that exist somewhere between the sacred and the everyday. She explores themes of metaphors and archetypes while revealing a sense of presence that is both intimate and expansive. Maureen has a BFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University and studied at The New School and Dieu Donné Papermill in New York City before relocating to Cape Cod in 2010. Her work had been exhibited in shows throughout the U.S. and Europe. These include solo shows at Artspace in Richmond, VA, and The Provincetown Commons, where she has also participated in numerous group exhibitions. She has been featured at the Garage Gallery and Adam Peck Gallery in Provincetown, and participated in shows at both the Provincetown Art Association Museum and the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum.
