My recent acrylics on panels and paper represent a synthesis of the soul: a personal exploration of life on the Outer Cape. They are a visual fusion of self and environment; the body/mind connection; the comfort and beauty of home; the individuality and immortality of painted images. I paint whatever moves me at any given time, with form and feeling. Painting is color in all its myriad methods and combinations: the light and character of Provincetown at the end of a fulfilling day, depending on the mood and weather; the excitement and relaxation of always looking, both inside and outside, keeps up the momentum. Rowena Perkins has exhibited her paintings in one-person and group shows in art galleries and public spaces on Cape Cod, in New England Region, New York, Key West and California since 1988.
