Attend one or both days of this hands-on workshop hosted by artist Jody Johnson, a multi-media and functional artist known for her “recycled and reimagined” creations. This beginner-friendly workshop introduces the fundamentals of mosaic art, from designing and cutting to adhering and grouting, giving participants the tools to create their own unique, personal projects.
What to Expect (Typical 2-Day Structure)
Day 1 – Design & Creation: Learn to select surfaces, design patterns, safely cut glass or tile, and adhere pieces using the direct method.
Day 2 – Grouting & Finishing: Explore different grout types, apply grout to fill spaces, and finish your piece with professional techniques.
Materials & Skills
Materials provided: pre-cut or raw tiles, adhesive, and substrates. Participants are welcome to bring their own materials as well.
Skill development includes cutting, layout, spacing, and finishing techniques.
No prior experience needed – perfect for beginners interested in creating a mosaic dish, panel, or other art piece.
