ABOUT THE ARTIST
After studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, Ric worked early in his career as a fashion illustrator for major department stores and as a freelance illustrator. Following a 30-year corporate career, Ric fully embraced his passion for painting while living in Ogunquit, Maine and Palm Springs, California, where he currently resides.
Ric continues to refine his craft through advanced workshops, including studies at the Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy. He served as Artist in Residence at Cliff House Maine for over four years, maintaining a working studio at the resort and teaching plein air oil painting and acrylic classes for guests. Ric teaches privately and paints several times a year in Provincetown.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The Cape is home to some of the most beautiful hydrangeas in the world. In this workshop, Ric will guide students through a proven step-by-step approach designed to simplify the process of painting hydrangeas. Working from reference photos (provided or your own), students will develop the skills and confidence needed to transition to plein air painting and create memorable floral landscapes in the future.
