About the Work
This exhibition brings together a diverse selection of paintings spanning over three decades, many originally collected by the late Basil Gadyszc. The show features a wide-ranging “mixed bag” of styles and subjects, including the six-panel series WAT’S HAPPENING, which presents sixty views of the Angkor Wat ruins in Cambodia. These works reflect Charnick’s exploratory approach and commitment to accessibility outside the traditional gallery system.
About the Artist
Arnie Charnick is a muralist and painter whose work can be found on walls and in collections across Provincetown, New York City, Santa Monica, Central America, and beyond. Known for exhibiting in alternative spaces, Charnick maintains independence from traditional gallery structures, allowing him to retain creative control and keep his work accessible. Over the years, his pieces have been widely collected, with notable support from longtime patrons including Basil Gadyszc.
